We're Renaming "Store Credit" to "Discount Code" – Here's Why
We’re making a small but important change: what we previously called “Store Credit” will now be called “Discount Code”.
Don’t worry – the functionality remains exactly the same. This change is simply about using the correct name.
Why the change?
The term “store credit” usually refers to a balance that is tied to a specific customer account – you log in, and the credit is there, just for you.
But what we’ve been offering all along is actually a discount code:
- It’s not tied to any specific person or account
- It can be used by anyone who has the code
- It works just like a discount code you’d buy or receive
In other words, we were calling it “store credit”, but it was always a discount code in how it worked.
Looking ahead
We do plan to introduce true store credit in the future – the kind that is connected to a customer’s login and account. To avoid confusion between these two different types of credit, it’s important that we update the name now.
